Week 2 Roster ID Checks & Live Scoring Update
August 31, 2026
Midwest Rugby Union member clubs continued to make progress with on-field roster ID checks and live scoring in Week 2. Overall, nearly every team entered scoring in a timely manner, demonstrating improved familiarity with the match-day requirements.
One team, however, failed to submit a match roster and properly record the score. As a result, the team received an administrative forfeit. Clubs are reminded that completing both the roster and live-scoring requirements is mandatory for league matches.
Player movements also remain an area that needs attention. In Rugby Xplorer (RX), the scorekeeper must select the player leaving the field and then select the player entering the match. Both parts of the movement are required and are completed on the same screen. Clubs should review the RX training video at approximately the 2:00-minute mark for a thorough explanation.
Teams must also communicate at the field before a match is closed. Any questions or discrepancies involving scoring, substitutions, or other match details must be reviewed by both teams and the referee. Once everyone has confirmed the information, the scorekeeper should end the match in RX to finalize the result.
The number of teams properly ending and resulting their matches improved from Week 1, but several games were still left open. Continued attention to substitutions, field-level verification, and the final End Game step will help ensure accurate and complete match records throughout the season.
