MWRU Announces Fee Schedule for Appeals and Playoff Waivers

The Midwest Rugby Union has announced its fee schedule for the 2026–27 competitive cycle, establishing administrative fees for appeal proceedings and Midwest Playoff waiver requests.

Under the new schedule, any club or player wishing to appeal an official Midwest Rugby Union decision must submit a $100 refundable deposit before the appeal will be heard. Appeals may include matters related to discipline, competition sanctioning, Midwest eligibility, or other official Union decisions. If the appeal is resolved in favor of the club or player, the deposit will be returned. If the appeal is not successful, the Midwest Rugby Union will retain the deposit to help offset administrative costs.

The fee schedule also establishes a $25 administrative fee for Midwest Playoff waiver requests. Waiver requests must be submitted at least 10 business days before the applicable match. Requests submitted after that deadline will require an additional $50 expedited review fee. No waiver requests will be accepted less than three days before the match, even if the expedited fee is paid.

Payments may be submitted through the Midwest Rugby Union Venmo account at @midwestrugby. Clubs, teams, or players seeking to pay by credit card may request a PayPal invoice for card payment processing, and an additional credit card processing charge may apply.

“These fees are designed to promote timely submissions, deter frivolous submissions, support consistent administrative review, and ensure that Union resources are used responsibly throughout the competitive cycle,” said Bill Marnell, the Union’s administrator.

The Midwest Rugby Union encourages clubs, players, and team administrators to review all appeal and waiver requirements before submitting requests during the 2026–27 competitive cycle.
